Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of research, data analysis and deliverable development for the following key activities:
- Establish in-country emergency protocols and response systems in collaboration with regional health systems and the Public Health Programs & Policies functions
- Collaborate with the Health Information and Public Health Programs & Polices units to identify disease or risk factor specific information essential to surveillance and analytics
- Collaborate with the Health Information unit working with external IT consultants to develop an early warning system for the Gulf region
- Work with the Manager, Public Health Emergencies in the coordination among cross-functional teams (e.g. Training Programs, Public Health Programs & Policies, Health Information) and Country-Level Officials
- Support the writing of Emergency Preparedness reports and documents
- Gather and analyse data for the tracking of Emergency Preparedness Key Performance Indicators
Qualification
- A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a Master’s degree or higher in the field of public health, emergency management, epidemiology, medicine or other related areas
- Nationality of one of the GCC Member States
Experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience acquired in positions relevant to the job description
- Strong hands-on experience and skills in project management
- Working experience from an international, multicultural setting
- Experience in:
- Working in a highly adaptable, fast-paced environment with periods of multiple challenges/change
- Data analysis, interpretation of scientific information and analytical epidemiology using statistical software
- Scientific communication to authorities, peers and community
