Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of research, data analysis and deliverable development for the following key activities:
- Develop a Regional Public Health Survey to understand public health priorities, needs and capacity (infrastructure, expertise, programs, resources) at the country level.
- Develop public health strategies within NCD in collaboration with CLOs
- Collaborate with disease and risk factor-specific working groups to identify, develop, adapt, and implement practices and policies of relevance to priority areas
- Establish of disease and risk factor-specific working groups and committees with representatives from all member states to tackle public health threats
- Collaborate with the Health Information function to analyse data and publish reports on topics of relevance to regional public health priorities and the Training and Capacity function to disseminate information effectively to representatives within member states
- Work with the Manager, Non-Communicable Diseases in the coordination among cross-functional teams (e.g. Training and Capacity, Health Information) and Country-Level Officials
- Support the writing of Non-Communicable Diseases Unit reports and documents
- Gather and analyse data for the tracking of Non-Communicable Diseases Key Performance Indicators
Qualification
- A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of public health, epidemiology, medicine, or another related area
- Nationality of one of the GCC Member States
Experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience acquired in positions relevant to the job description
- Strong hands-on experience and skills in project management
- Working experience from an international, multicultural setting
- Public health experience at national or international level, preferably in NCD
- Experience in the coordination of multi-organizational activities
