Job Summary:
The Lead, Surveillance and Analytics for the execution of day-to-day task and projects related to Surveillance and Analytics function, including research, data analysis and deliverable development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the execution of research, data analysis and deliverable development for the following key activities:
- Assess the public health needs/gaps and data collection capacity and processes within Gulf-CDC member states.
- Collaborate with the Public Health Programs and Polices and Public Health Emergencies unit to identify disease or risk factor specific information essential to surveillance and analytics.
- Collaborate with external IT consultants to develop a regional surveillance and early warning system for the Gulf region.
- Work with the Manager, Surveillance and Analytics in the coordination among cross-functional teams (e.g. Knowledge Sharing and Translation, Public Health Programs & Policies, Data Governance and Policy) and Country-Level officials.
- Support the writing of Surveillance and Analytics reports and documents.
- Gather and analyze data for the tracking of Surveillance and Analytics key performance indicators.
Qualification:
- A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, epidemiology or related field with familiarity of disease epidemiology and surveillance.
- Nationality of one of the Gulf-CDC Member states.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of professional experience acquired in positions relevant to the job description.
- Strong hands-on experience and skills in project management.
- Working experience from an international, multicultural setting.
- Experience in IT functions within the areas of public health, microbiology and/or bioinformatics.
Competencies:
- Expertise in the field of statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, or related field with familiarity of disease epidemiology and surveillance and/or IT functions within the areas of public health, microbiology and/or bioinformatics.
- Excellent command of English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
