The Gulf Health Council held its 96th session on Monday and Tuesday, March 20-21, at its headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, upon the invitation of Suleiman Al-Dakheel, the Director General of the Gulf Health Council. The meeting began with a welcome from Dr. Youssef Al-Farsi from Oman, the current Chairman of the meeting, announcing the start of the meeting’s agenda items.
During the meeting, the Executive Committee members discussed several topics that were listed on the meeting’s agenda, aimed at improving the level of health services in the GCC countries. These topics fall under the Council’s main pillars of Prevention, Awareness, Development, and Health Support. The Council’s projects for the year 2023 were also discussed, as well as an overview of Qatar’s experience in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic during the World Cup, and the performance of the Gulf Unified Procurement Program.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Isa Al Mansouri and Mr. Nasser Khalifa Al Budoor from the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Ejlal Alawi from Bahrain, Dr. Hani Joukhadar, Dr. Abdullah Assiri, and Dr. Marai Al-Qahtani from Saudi Arabia, Dr. Youssef Al-Farsi from Oman, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Thani and Abdullatif Ali Al-Abdullah from Qatar, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi and Dr. Buthaina Al-Mudhaf from Kuwait, and Professor Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Dahhan from Yemen
